Webinar | Managing WiFi Challenges in Diagnostic Use Cases

WiFi-based communication has become standard in modern workshops. However, unstable connections, high latencies, and network disruptions often compromise smooth diagnostic processes – especially in demanding use cases like flashing or end-of-line testing. Join our free webinar on July 17, 2025, and learn how to manage these WiFi challenges in diagnostic use cases.

SOVD – Diagnostic Standard for Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV)

SOVD (Service-Oriented Vehicle Diagnostics) is the new ASAM standard enabling modern, secure, and standardized access to vehicle diagnostics via IP — locally, remotely, or through the cloud. Designed for SDVs and future-proof mobility concepts.

Meet Softing at the 18th Conference on Diagnostics

Meet us on June 3 and 4, 2025 at the 18th Conference - Diagnostics in Mechatronic Vehicle Systems in Dresden. The focus will be on current challenges and technological developments in the field of testing, inspection and diagnostics E/E systems in connection with the networked infrastructure, new assistance functions, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, software integrity and the challenges of meeting legal requirements and standards. In our presentation you will learn everything about the topic “The challenge of workshop solutions with software-based vehicles - SOVD and OTX in use”.

Technical Paper | Options for Introducing SOVD in SDV Architectures

Our Technical Paper “Options for Introducing SOVD in SDV Architectures” (Paper No. 2025-01-8081) is now available for download on the SAE International website. The topic will be presented on April 8, 2025 by Julian Mayer at @WCX™, powered by SAE International, in Detroit, MI, USA.

Webinar | SOVD - Standardized Diagnostic Access to SDVs

Learn all about SOVD (Service-Oriented Vehicle Diagnostics), the standard for diagnostics in the software-defined vehicle (SDV). Learn how SOVD enables standardised access to diagnostic systems via an API - from remote access to applications in production and workshops. Discover use cases, basic concepts and benefits of this future-orientated approach for the automotive industry.

Modern Diagnostic Test Stations for the Chamber of Crafts Frankfurt (Oder)

We are pleased to be equipping the automotive competence center of the Chamber of Crafts Frankfurt (Oder) – Region Ostbrandenburg in Hennickendorf, which is in the course of being set up, with the latest simulation and diagnostic technology for its innovative teaching concept! As one component of the “diagnostic test stations” supplied, the Softing TCS simulation boxes enable the mapping of vehicle networking via Automotive Ethernet (DoIP) as well as classically via CAN-FD. This makes it possible to simulate realistic error scenarios in vehicle communication and experience them in a practical way.

From the Field | Remote Vehicle Control for Commercial Vehicles on Roller Test Benches for Daimler Truck AG

Softing Automotive offers a universal vehicle remote control system for the driverless operation of commercial vehicles of all drive types on roller test benches based on cost-effective industrial automation technology components. The concept was most recently implemented at the Daimler Truck plant in Wörth on the Road to Rig (R2R) commercial vehicle all-wheel drive chassis dynamometer. You can find out more about this use case in this article.
