PassThru (SAE J2534)

Interface for accessing diagnostic protocols

The J2534 defined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) describes a programming interface for the hexadecimal access of diagnostic protocols.

Even though it was originally only initiated for use as a programming interface in independent repair shops, the PassThru API is today used for many other diagnostic tasks, particularly for OBD tasks.

Softing Experience

Softing has extensive experience with the SAE J2534 - and we know both sides! On the one hand, we have been providing our EDIC family interfaces with a PassThru-API for some time now. On the other, we have also realized many solutions on SAE J2534 APIs, both as customized versions and in our own products. For example, our D-Server DTS COS can also be set up on SAE J2534 interfaces.
