On 4th April 2024, the i-Mobility event was inaugurated in Stuttgart by Transport Minister Winfried Hermann. Subsequently, Minister Hermann visited the booth for the research project AMEISE, supported by the Ministry of Transport Baden-Württemberg. It was an honor to discuss with him the potentials of autonomous driving in public transportation! The goal of the "AMEISE" project is the development and research of highly automated, emission-free vehicles for passenger transport in public transport and the exploration of success factors for the faster spread of autonomous driving in public transport in Baden-Württemberg.

Meet us at the SAE OBD Symposium 2024 in Amsterdam and join the presentation "Diagnostic Communication with a ZEV using UDS on IP (SAE J1979-3)” by Peter Subke. The presentation explains the extension of SAE J1979 and its "OBD Modes" to UDS and their application in ZEVonUDS for the diagnosis of ZEV drive systems, including the reading of the VIN using DoIP.

A fully equipped vehicle produces several gigabits of data per second. In particular, this data provides information about the technical condition of the vehicle. In raw format and also in standardized data description formats, however, this data is generally not comprehensible to humans. Therefore, they are interpreted by software and converted into human-readable information. Softing's Smart Diagnostic Engine (SDA) is a platform-independent runtime system that interprets and executes diagnostic functions, simple diagnostic services and even complex and automated diagnostic sequences for precisely this purpose.

Solutions for diagnostic simulation of ECUs and vehicles enable process-safe regression testing of diagnostic testers ("test the tester"), facilitate the commissioning of test sequences, and provide the best possible training for employees, as all required vehicle variants, including fault patterns, can be easily simulated.
