The SAE International On-Board Diagnostics Symposium-Europe continues to serve as the industry’s trusted event, providing regulatory and standards updates geared towards meeting European Commission and the California Air Resources Board ground vehicle emissions regulations. This important event provides a platform for open dialogue between OEMs, suppliers, regulators, and government to discuss topics, such as:
This is your opportunity to connect and unite with global light- and heavy-duty OBD-systems engineers to discuss the technical topics in powertrain diagnostics that directly influence ground vehicle emissions reduction efforts.

SAE J1979 and its “OBD Modes” served the protection of our environment against harmful pollutants for decades, but due to regulatory adoption of the Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS), SAE J1979 now becomes a multiple part document series. For SAE J1979-3 (ZEVonUDS), emission-related failures will be replaced by ZEV propulsion-related failures. This presentation introduces to the the basics of UDSonIP, DoIP and ZEVonUDS. It also covers how DoIP is used for diagnostic communication with the ZEV propulsion system to read the VIN.
