The SOVD standard is changing diagnostics. It offers great advantages especially in the interaction with several partners over the internet. In the early stages of development, additional methodologies are needed to leverage this, as the standard was not developed for ECU diagnostics. In particular, attention must be paid to data processes, which can lead to significant additional costs in parallel systems. For their moderation, diagnostic systems such as Softing SDE can be used, which have been designed for a wide range of application scenarios and can easily be extended with an SOVD API.
