ODX and UDS have had a decisive influence on diagnostics for a decade and, as widely used standards, have made diagnostics manageable for OEMs, suppliers and tool suppliers despite increasing requirements. However, the software-defined vehicle (SDV) is now leading to significant changes in the E/E architecture and thus to new requirements for diagnostics.
In recent years, ASAM e.V. has therefore developed SOVD (Service-Oriented Vehicle Diagnostics), a standard for precisely the challenges of SDVs. For the first time, it allows standardized access to a diagnostic system that runs in the vehicle on an HPC (High-Performance Computer). The standard defines an API for diagnostic applications in the vehicle, for remote access, but also for today's applications on the vehicle in production or in the workshop.
In this webinar, we will give you an introduction to the use cases, clarify the technical boundary conditions and basic concepts and explain the advantages and disadvantages. Practical examples will also show how the service-oriented approach is used in typical diagnostic scenarios.
