Remote-Diagnostics becomes “Diagnostics 4.0“ – With more than 100 ECUs in the vehicle, pressure is increasing to ensure more efficient diagnostics of these ECUs. In parallel to this development, the dependence on ECU functions in many instances today makes reliable statements in diagnostics increasingly difficult – which means that the quality of diagnostics overall must increase. The answer to these challenges are called remote diagnostics and cloud diagnostics.

Softing´s new high end VCI VIN|ING 2000 flexibly masters all future diagnostic challenges! VIN|ING 2000 not only makes it possible to master today‘s stand­ard use cases with WLAN or a USB connection to the computer – it is also perfectly prepared for upcoming remote-diagnostic tasks and stand-­alone operation.

Release 14 of Diagnostic Tool Set 8 (DTS 8) from Softing Automotive is now available. Users benefit from extended functionality in ECU flashing over the standards DoIP and CAN FD. The user interface has also been improved. The number of vehicle interfaces supported in DTS 8 has once again been extended.

Vehicles are increasingly connecting themselves with their environment: with other vehicles, parts of the infrastructure, the cloud. And this is in fact the key to new functions such as autonomous driving. Together with the increasing electrification of vehicles, this is placing even more demands on diagnostics – but at the same time is also presenting completely new opportunities.

With a compact design and WLAN, LAN and USB as interfaces to the host system as well as CAN, K-Line and Ethernet to the vehicle, VIN|ING 2000 is particularly well suited for future-proof diagnostic applications. The MVCI server on the VCI enables Remote scenarios as well as ODX- and OTX-based stand-alone solutions.

The OTX Standard enables the exchange of diagnostic processes between all departments involved in the vehicle life cycle – from development to service. Softings new OTX Studio v3 complements this concept by separating the graphical interface from the diagnostic-/OTX-processes on all modern platforms like Android, iOS, Linus and Windows. “Create once, use many times” is consistently realized.

Diagnostics over Internet Protocol (DoIP) is increasingly finding its way into modern vehicle architectures. The Ethernet-based communication protocol is a prerequisite for highly efficient vehicle access by the diverse range of applications in vehicle diagnostics and measurement data recording.

The latest release 12 also comprises several improvements in relation to performance and user-friendliness. Further development focused in particular on the flashing of large quantities of data. The logging of the OTX Runtime and the handling of the vehicle quick test in the engineering tester DTS Monaco have also been simplified.
