Softing Automotive offers a solution for decoupling the DUT from the test bench automation on the hardware and software side, which only requires a small amount of OEM-specific knowledge from the manufacturer of the automation system and therefore significantly simplifies and accelerates the preparation and execution of the test process. A test bench interface, which is connected between the automation and the device under test (DUT), makes this feasible and also enables the testing of several test objects with a corresponding front end.

Simulation in test preparation enables the verification of test routines and the entire test setup, which reduces the time required for troubleshooting. ODX-based diagnostic simulation improves test sequences, minimises test effort and ensures accurate fault detection. With easy to create automated communication tests, the large number of ECUs and their variants as well as the wide variety of diagnostic services and parameterizations can be conveniently verified. With the Test Case Editor in Softing OTX.studio, the validation of ECUs is created quickly and easily by using an intuitive drag & drop function. Due to the rapid increase in electronics and software in the vehicle, testing ECUs is becoming increasingly complex. It is no longer only individual systems that have to be tested, but also the interactions between the systems. One possible key to the solution is test automation. While good results are already being achieved in many areas of vehicle electronics through simulations, this step still needs to be taken in vehicle diagnostics. It is obvious: An external device, the diagnostic tester, is developed or adapted to perform the test - but the necessary counterpart in the form of an ECU or vehicle is missing to test the tester. With Softing TCS, a configurable diagnostic simulation with real communication is available in time, which considerably accelerates the creation of automated tests.
