From the Field | Solution for Decoupling the Device Under Test and Test Bench Automation

Softing Automotive offers a solution for decoupling the DUT from the test bench automation on the hardware and software side, which only requires a small amount of OEM-specific knowledge from the manufacturer of the automation system and therefore significantly simplifies and accelerates the preparation and execution of the test process. A test bench interface, which is connected between the automation and the device under test (DUT), makes this feasible and also enables the testing of several test objects with a corresponding front end.

High-speed Flashing with Ed & Ted – Get it Done!

Software-defined vehicles (SDV) and new E/E architectures place high demands on diagnostics, vehicle access and data management. The need for software updates is increasing, as is the amount of data that needs to be transferred. In the near future, around 50 GB of data per vehicle type and model series will have to be stored accordingly. Conventional methods are often too slow and unreliable here. The Smart Vehicle Interface Softing SVI is a high-performance platform for modern ECU programming with continuous data supply. The solution combines the advantages of the high-speed wireless connection of a smart device with the classic diagnostic functions of a high-end vehicle communication interface (VCI) and thus enables fast, reliable and flexible flash programming of large amounts of data.

New High-Speed Interface "Softing SVI" for Vehicle Communication in the Gigabit Range

We are pleased to present the new Smart Vehicle Interface ‘Softing SVI’ – a high-performance solution for modern ECU programming with continuous data supply. The Softing SVI combines the advantages of the high-speed wireless connection of a Smart Device with the classic diagnostic functions of a high-end Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI) and an SSD in a compact housing. It thus enables fast, reliable and flexible flash programming of substantial amounts of data and is therefore the solution for the high requirements of software-defined vehicles (SDV).

Fast Support – Get it Done!

Softing Automotive offers first-class, personal support, fast solutions and expert advice in vehicle electronics and diagnostics. We support you with diagnostic and test tasks, including data preparation and the integration of our solutions into your infrastructure. You can also benefit from our expertise through training courses, free webinars, video and information material.

Optimized Test Preparation with a Diagnostic Simulation

Simulation in test preparation enables the verification of test routines and the entire test setup, which reduces the time required for troubleshooting. ODX-based diagnostic simulation improves test sequences, minimises test effort and ensures accurate fault detection. In our short Solution Spotlight video, Thomas Blocher explains the use case and shows how an ODX-based simulation project can be easily created and customised with Softing TCS.admin.

Expertise through Training – Get it Done!

Interested in learning more about vehicle diagnostics and testing, flash programming, standards like OTX and ODX or data communication? Then our training program is exactly what you are looking for! As a specialist for the entire life cycle of electronic control units and vehicle systems, we support beginners and professionals with excellent training in the areas of diagnostics, testing and communication.

Reference Book | Vehicle Diagnostics – Basics, Bus Systems, Protocols, Applications

We congratulate our esteemed colleague Peter Subke on the publication of his third technical book "Vehicle Diagnostics – Fundamentals, Bus Systems, Protocols, Applications." The book supports engineers and technicians from development, testing, production and service at vehicle manufacturers and suppliers who deal with mechatronic systems, their data exchange and diagnostic protocols or services and who are interested in innovations based on networked and intelligent electronic systems. This specialised book is also an excellent source of information for students of electrical engineering, automotive engineering and computer science at universities, technical colleges and vocational schools.
