Multiflash Unit
Hardware for Parallel Flash Programming of Multiple ECUs.
The Multiflash Unit is a ready-to-use hardware solution that enables parallel flash programming of up to eight UDS ECUs or four DoIP ECUs. For maximum flexibility, identical or different ECUs can be used.
Areas of Application
- Programming in pre-assembly
- Programming in prototype construction
- Programming in software development
- Programming during rework
Functions & Advantages
- Connection of up to four VCIs via OBD connectors (VIN|ING 2000: two CAN channels per VCI)
- Integrated power supply
Overview
Reliable Quality
The cabling and enclosure are suitable for production environments and remain highly reliable even during long-term use. Particular attention is paid to the cabling, which is the greatest weak point in open test setups. Connectors, sockets and power supply are designed accordingly.
No External Equipment Required
On request, we supply not only the Multiflash Unit but also the VCIs and the appropriate cables for connecting the ECUs (with open ends) and the PC, so no additional accessories are required. The Multiflash Unit can also be used perfectly well with existing equipment.
Compatible with Various Applications
The Multiflash Unit can be used with any application capable of addressing multiple VCIs in parallel. One example is Softing DTS.monaco with the Multiflash PlugIn, which is often used by experienced users in development. In production environments, Softing TDX is frequently used as the programming interface. It can be easily adapted to different user groups.
Possible Applications
ECU Updates in Prototype Construction
When vehicles are built for the first time, new hardware versions often still need to be integrated. These must be brought up to the latest software version as quickly as possible; otherwise, the test phase is delayed. Thanks to parallel operation and the ability to work with different ECUs, the Multiflash Unit can make this process up to eight times faster.
ECU Programming in Pre-Assembly
There are various reasons for minimizing programming on the production line: today’s large data volumes are difficult to fit into cycle times, or the vehicle should be powered up as rarely as possible. In all such cases, the Multiflash Unit enables highly efficient preparation in pre-assembly through parallel operation. The ECUs then arrive at the production line already programmed with the appropriate software.
Programming in Development
It is often necessary to update several ECUs to a new software version at the same time for test series. With the Multiflash Unit, they can be programmed in parallel to complete this process quickly.
