In spite of standardization and user-friendly tools, the complexity of vehicle diagnostics basically demands more or less sound know-how, depending on the area of application and requirements. Whether beginner or advanced, of course we are happy to support you with your daily challenges and offer a wide range of basic and specialist training sessions and workshops on the topics of vehicle diagnostics, the ODX and OTX standard and the use of our tools.
Software is the most important driver of automotive innovations. And this is why software must be developed to an appropriate level of safety to ensure that, in the case of a fault or error, neither the driver of a particular vehicle or other road users should suffer any harm.
The new release 2.3 of the repair shop tester Softing TDX is now available, featuring automated and centralized software updates. This saves time and considerably reduces the effort involved in maintenance.
We wish all our customers, suppliers, partners, employees and friends a Merry Christmas and health, happiness and success for 2019! We are looking forward to continuing our successful partnerships and collaborations next year!
Diagnostics and Security: Gateways for hackers and how to close them – As long as diagnostics takes place locally, in other words using a cable connection between the diagnostic tester and the diagnostic interface or the vehicle, it is safe to assume that the diagnostic system is basically secure as far as unauthorized access is concerned. But the picture changes as soon as there is a remote data connection over the Internet.
A frequent challenge for diagnostics in the field, particularly in the machine environment, is that the ECU configuration of the machine is not known in advance and that a diagnostic project may have to be adapted or supplemented dynamically during runtime. With the new version 2.2. of the repair shop tool Softing TDX, it is possible to load and even supplement diagnostic projects dynamically, depending on the machine configuration.
Development projects are increasingly being handled by teams whose members are spread all over the world. Remote Engineering allows efficient networking of global work capacities. However, there are a number of aspects that need to be considered during implementation to ensure a smooth process.
Meet us at Automotive Testing Expo USA, Oct 22-24, 2019 in Novi, MI, USA. Come and see our entire product and service portfolio for yourself. It ranges from hardware and software products through customized solutions to mobile app solutions and engineering services.
Softing Automotive offers wireless and wired adapters for secure, convenient diagnostics in ECU and vehicle engineering. Communication with a Device under Test (FMU, HiL, vehicle, ..) takes place over the DoIP interface between an application and the VCI VIN|ING 600 (WLAN to Ethernet Bridge). Alternatively, we offer wired connections using patch cords and individually angled OBD diagnostic connectors on RJ45.
