Central Data Platform for the Diagnostics of the Future | Technical Article

The digital transformation in aftersales uses cloud technology to make diagnostic and repair data available centrally. This enables workshops and manufacturers to exchange vehicle data, repair histories and diagnostic processes efficiently and securely. The Softing TDX.server serves as a central data platform that manages vehicle data and user access and optimises diagnostic processes. Role-based access rights secure the data and feedback from the workshops continuously improves the quality of the diagnostic content.

Episode 14 "Pocket Diagnostics" with Ed & Ted

A typical diagnostic system is made up of several components: The comprehensive test application runs on a PC and is connected to the vehicle via a hardware interface (VCI) by cable or wirelessly. However, in applications where frequent vehicle changes or recurring test and flash processes are required, this system can often be too complex, unwieldy and costly. In addition, extensive expertise is required to ensure correct diagnostics and avoid damage to the software, hardware or vehicle. The VIN|ING 2000 PDX is a simplified solution.

From the Field | Remote Vehicle Control for Commercial Vehicles on Roller Test Benches for Daimler Truck AG

Softing Automotive offers a universal vehicle remote control system for the driverless operation of commercial vehicles of all drive types on roller test benches based on cost-effective industrial automation technology components. The concept was most recently implemented at the Daimler Truck plant in Wörth on the Road to Rig (R2R) commercial vehicle all-wheel drive chassis dynamometer. You can find out more about this use case in this article.

Innovative technologies in the automotive industry require adaptation of vehicle architecture and diagnostic processes. Softing Automotive offers a toolchain based on diagnostic standards to meet market trends and reduce complexity.

Episode 13 "Modern Workshop Tester" | Ed & Ted – Get it Done!

The increasing number of software functions and variants in vehicles leads to increased complexity over the entire vehicle life cycle. Software updates are becoming increasingly frequent and relevant, even after the vehicle has been delivered, in order to optimize functions, rectify faults or activate new features. These must be carried out efficiently and without errors. At the same time, diagnostic processes are becoming increasingly demanding due to the large amount of data and interfaces. In particular, they must reliably map the high variance in the vehicle configuration. Softing TDX offers exactly the right tool support for a modern diagnostic tester in aftersales.

New Solution Spotlight "Autarkic Testing with Smart VCI"

With the stand-alone tester ‘VIN|ING 2000 PDX’, Softing offers a self-sufficient test solution for vehicle diagnostics that can be carried out directly on the vehicle without a PC or laptop. The compact, user-friendly solution enables ECU updates and diagnostics directly on the vehicle and is controlled via OTX scripts. Programmable buttons and coloured LED lights facilitate operation and indicate the current status of the application. The solution is suitable for use in production, road tests and after-sales service, saves time and costs and can also be operated by semi-skilled personnel after configuration. The ability to operate several devices in parallel further increases efficiency.
