We congratulate our esteemed colleague Peter Subke on the publication of his third technical book "Vehicle Diagnostics – Fundamentals, Bus Systems, Protocols, Applications." The book supports engineers and technicians from development, testing, production and service at vehicle manufacturers and suppliers who deal with mechatronic systems, their data exchange and diagnostic protocols or services and who are interested in innovations based on networked and intelligent electronic systems. This specialised book is also an excellent source of information for students of electrical engineering, automotive engineering and computer science at universities, technical colleges and vocational schools.
In this webinar you will learn the basics of diagnostic communication (UDS, DoCAN, DoIP). It also covers how UDS is used for diagnostic communication with a ZEV to read the VIN. Furthermore, a practical demo provides a graphical user interface of a diagnostic service tester.
The 17th Conference on Diagnostics in Mechatronic Vehicle Systems will take place in Dresden on 14 and 15 May 2024. This year's topics will once again revolve around current challenges and new technologies in the field of testing, inspection and diagnosis of E/E systems in the vehicle in connection with the networked infrastructure, new assistance functions and the challenges of fulfilling legal requirements and standards. On Wednesday 15 May, Kay Lübkert (Project Manager at Softing Automotive) and Jürgen Heilmeier (Manager Innovation & Test, Softing Automotive) will provide you with exclusive insights into the requirements for vehicle access in the software-based vehicles.
We cordially invite you to the Softing x Globalmatix TechDay on 14 May 2024 in Kirchentellinsfurt! Join us as we present our latest solutions for the automotive industry, which overcome a variety of challenges in the areas of development, production and aftersales. Experience live our innovative solutions for the detection of minor damage, high-speed flashing, automated fault simulation as well as electronic test setups and test systems. We will show you how our technologies can help you to achieve your individual efficiency and growth targets. In exciting live crashes, we will present our telematics solution for detecting minor damage with automated, cloud-based AI accident analysis as well as other innovative approaches to digital fleet management.
The automotive industry is moving towards environmentally friendly drives and digital, automated functions. This increases the complexity of vehicle electronics and the demands on communication. Standardization in vehicle diagnostics is therefore becoming increasingly important in order to simplify engineering, production and service and to ensure interoperability and cost-effectiveness over the entire vehicle life cycle.
On 4th April 2024, the i-Mobility event was inaugurated in Stuttgart by Transport Minister Winfried Hermann. Subsequently, Minister Hermann visited the booth for the research project AMEISE, supported by the Ministry of Transport Baden-Württemberg. It was an honor to discuss with him the potentials of autonomous driving in public transportation! The goal of the "AMEISE" project is the development and research of highly automated, emission-free vehicles for passenger transport in public transport and the exploration of success factors for the faster spread of autonomous driving in public transport in Baden-Württemberg.
Have you ever wondered how practical it would be to combine all diagnostic functions in one single tool? The Softing Diagnostic Tool Set is an intuitive diagnostic tool for the entire range of use cases in both vehicle engineering and development as well as diagnostics, from ECU testing to vehicle release in engineering, testing and manufacturing.
With easy to create automated communication tests, the large number of ECUs and their variants as well as the wide variety of diagnostic services and parameterizations can be conveniently verified. With the Test Case Editor in Softing OTX.studio, the validation of ECUs is created quickly and easily by using an intuitive drag & drop function. It is also possible to visualize the results in XML or HTML format and map the statistics of the test campaigns. In this video you can see how simple it is to create ECU communication tests.
Meet us at the SAE OBD Symposium 2024 in Amsterdam and join the presentation "Diagnostic Communication with a ZEV using UDS on IP (SAE J1979-3)” by Peter Subke. The presentation explains the extension of SAE J1979 and its "OBD Modes" to UDS and their application in ZEVonUDS for the diagnosis of ZEV drive systems, including the reading of the VIN using DoIP.
