Restructuring of Softing’s Automotive Segment – Samtec Automotive Software & Electronics GmbH

In late 2016/early 2017, Softing reorganized the vehicle diagnostics and vehicle communication units, mainly affecting samtec Automotive Software & Electronics GmbH as a subsidiary of Softing Automotive Electronics GmbH.

As of January 1, 2017, all activities of samtec was consolidated under the operational management of Softing Automotive Electronics GmbH.

The samtec product portfolio, including vehicle interfaces (VCIs), interface software as well as diagnostic and communication middleware, became part of the product portfolio of Softing Automotive in the course of the restructuring measures.

samDia

The ECU simulation TestCUBE2 is the counterpart for all cases of application in which an ECU is not yet (e.g. preparation of workshop tests) or no longer (e.g. tester regression test) available.
TestCUBE2 is a configurable hardware and software solution for simulating ECU diagnostics with real bus communication. With just one device, you can simulate several ECUs or even an entire vehicle at the same time.

Softing DTS.monaco is an extensive off­board diagnostic tool for the engineering sector which covers the entire range of ap­plication cases from ECU testing through to vehicle release. It is easily integrated into the test sequences and corporate processes, not least because of its flexible interfaces which can be configured to suit the relevant test step.


Softing VCF enables (almost) all functions required in vehicle and ECU communication. Thus it is possible to integrate the residual bus simulation for one or more ECUs, the analysis of the bus communication as well as the bus-based measurement into own applications. The block sequencer ensures cross-functional behavior control with the possibility of responding to results.


Softing´s Smart Diagnostic Engine (SDE) is a high-performance runtime system which interprets and runs simple diagnostic services and even complex and automated diagnostic sequences. It is based on the Softing Diagnostic Base System and uses the standardized diagnostic formats ODX and OTX and extends these with a simple to operate API. The SDE, which can be used modularly and independently of the platform, is implementing a paradigm shift in diagnostics. The additional Smart Diagnostic API focuses on the function-oriented application of diagnostics without requiring in-depth diagnostic knowledge. Simultaneously the SDE makes it possible to access the API interface ‘remotely’. At the same time it continues to support all relevant diagnostic protocols and bus systems. The fact that it does not depend on a specific platform results in continuous reusability in the product life cycle.


samtec OTX-Interpreter

Softing OTX.studio is a development environment for creating, implementing and debugging of complex diagnostic sequences. You can conveniently create graphical user interfaces and link them to the sequences created.


samScan OBD II

Softing DTS.obd is the tool for validating and releasing the self-diagnosis of individual ECUs or an entire vehicle in vehicle engineering. It comprehensively covers on-board diagnostics, combining the functionality of an OBD Scan Tool as well as a data and bus monitor in one single tool.


Our D-PDU API software enables the easy integration of SOFTING diagnostic and communication interfaces into diagnostic tools. In all EDIC interfaces the communication protocol stack is implemented as embedded software.
