Reference Book | Vehicle Diagnostics – Basics, Bus Systems, Protocols, Applications

We congratulate our esteemed colleague Peter Subke on the publication of his third technical book "Vehicle Diagnostics – Fundamentals, Bus Systems, Protocols, Applications." The book supports engineers and technicians from development, testing, production and service at vehicle manufacturers and suppliers who deal with mechatronic systems, their data exchange and diagnostic protocols or services and who are interested in innovations based on networked and intelligent electronic systems. This specialised book is also an excellent source of information for students of electrical engineering, automotive engineering and computer science at universities, technical colleges and vocational schools.

Meet us at the 17th Conference on Diagnostics

The 17th Conference on Diagnostics in Mechatronic Vehicle Systems will take place in Dresden on 14 and 15 May 2024. This year's topics will once again revolve around current challenges and new technologies in the field of testing, inspection and diagnosis of E/E systems in the vehicle in connection with the networked infrastructure, new assistance functions and the challenges of fulfilling legal requirements and standards. On Wednesday 15 May, Kay Lübkert (Project Manager at Softing Automotive) and Jürgen Heilmeier (Manager Innovation & Test, Softing Automotive) will provide you with exclusive insights into the requirements for vehicle access in the software-based vehicles.

Remote Access over the Entire Vehicle Life Cycle with Ed & Ted

Remote Vehicle Access offers an innovative solution for vehicle diagnostics, measuring and testing ECUs. Using wireless communication technologies, electronic vehicle systems can be monitored, controlled and diagnosed remotely. This enables vehicle manufacturers and workshops to quickly detect and rectify faults in the vehicle without having to be physically on site.

Smart Diagnostics and Testing with Ed & Ted – Get it Done!

In a world where vehicle electronics is constantly evolving, especially via software, engineers and technicians are constantly faced with new challenges. Ed & Ted, two experts in the fields of diagnostics and testing, take on the demanding tasks over the entire vehicle lifecycle. But while Ed works with tried-and-tested methods and technologies, Ted is already relying on Softing's innovative solutions, which make his work much easier and more efficient.

Standardization Drives Quality and Efficiency in Vehicle Diagnostics – Interview with Professor Dr.-Ing. Goß

The fields of innovation, electric and alternative drives, as well as increasing digitalization and automated driving, are of particular importance in the mobility of the future. We would like to know the professional view of an independent expert from the field of vehicle systems technology on this topic. To this end, we have arranged an interview with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Goß and would like to know how he views current developments in the automotive industry and their impact on standardization in vehicle diagnostics.

Interview | "Automation is Never at an End"

Interview "Automation is Never at an End"

Digitization and digital transformation, as well as e-mobility, are topics that are currently keeping the automotive industry very busy. Trends such as remote work and cloud solutions as well as 4G and 5G technologies are currently in great demand. Among other things, they enable on-board access to the vehicle. And there are always new topics with regard to automation as well. In the area of diagnostics, the requirements are becoming increasingly complex, not least due to extensive safety measures.
